How to Protect Strategic Targets

We need to protect our strategic areas in the United States whether they are government owned facilities or privately owned businesses. For example, there are approximately 110 nuclear power plants in the United States today (according to radwaste.org) as well as 123 Chemical Manufacturing plants that if attacked, could wipe out over one million people each. These power plants and chemical plants are in the open and might be tough to defend during an aerial terrorist attack. Let’s put an Apache helicopter at or near all of our nuclear power plants and chemical plants with two rotating crews available to respond at all times. Let’s also place a couple of those same crews and gunships at our metropolitan airports. Patrols in Afghanistan and Iraq are good things. We could use them here at home as well.
